Fit and placement of the Cala band are essential to therapeutic efficacy. The prescription form requires a measurement of the patient’s wrist in centimeters.
Measure the patient’s wrist circumference proximal to the head of the ulna so that the surface is flush with the skin but not so tight that it pinches the wrist.
If you cannot measure the wrist in person, the patient will need to measure their own wrist.
- Using a flexible measuring tape, simply wrap it around the wrist and note the cm mark where the tape meets the beginning of the measuring tape.
- If the patient has a rigid ruler, they can mark a piece of string or cord and measure the string piece with the ruler.
If wrist measurement is difficult, the Cala Customer Care team can send a measuring tool in the mail.
